About Me

About: Image
'After graduating from Textile Design at Falmouth University in 2017, I have sought to further explore my practice as a Textile Artist. My experience of living and studying in Cornwall influenced the aesthetic of my work. The space and beauty of the landscape has been a feeling I have sought to capture within my embroidery once relocating to London. Through stitch, both hand and digital, I have sought to capture the changeful sky, exploring light and colour graduations. My work is abstract and does not seek true representations, but attempts to hold on to a feeling, a fleeting moment of light and dark, heavy and soft, warm and cold. I am interested in creating woven like structures on fabric; using stitch instinctively to build up layers, creating a subtle texture over the entire surface. Part of my process of exploration alongside embroidery is drawing, mark making and collage. I am keen to experiment with stitch, seeking continual development through learning new techniques.'
